’Tis the season for family and LinkedIn photos as RIT offers portrait sittings
Nov 11, 2013
If you haven’t yet scheduled your family’s holiday portrait, or you’re looking to add a better headshot to your LinkedIn profile, Rochester Institute of Technology is offering portrait sittings next weekend. All the money raised will support the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences Honors Leadership trip to Italy during intersession.
The portrait location is the Neblette Conference Room (room 1104) of Gannett Hall on the RIT campus (please park in E or F Lot). Only cash or checks (payable to RIT) will be accepted as payment; RIT faculty and staff also may pay with Tiger Bucks. The hours of the sittings are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 16–17. Walk-ins for individual, family or group portraits are welcome.
The pricing for the portrait sittings is as follows:
- 1-2 people: $25
- 3-4 people: $30
- 5-8 people: $40
- 8 or more people: $60 (groups larger than eight need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org).
While props are not available at the portrait site, participants are welcome to bring their own. Photo backdrop is neutral. Six to 10 images will be emailed after the session.
Weather permitting, photographers will be able to accommodate pet photos outside of Gannett Hall, not in the building. Pets are the same as people pricing.
A second option open to faculty, staff, students, friends and family offers portraits for LinkedIn and other professional applications (two to four images) for $10.
Fourteen CIAS Honors students will spend two weeks in Italy over intersession taking in art history, museums, cultural events, and exploring past and present cultures. The group will stay in Rome, Naples and Florence and will explore the architecture of eight cities. The students will use their art and images made during the trip to create independent projects during the spring semester. A presentation of projects will be open to the campus community in April.
