Graduate students' work on display at Gallery r
Gallery r is proud to present “Forces at Work,” a group exhibition featuring selected work by 12 students in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences (CIAS) at RIT’s School for American Crafts, School of Art and School of Photographic Arts and Sciences.
Each student brings their own experience to bear on ideas and materials evident in their work — whether it’s ceramics, glass, wood, painting, photography, sculpture, or video. As a group, they exemplify the conceptual and technical forces at work in RIT CIAS’ graduate programs.
Featured artists include: Fatmah Bamashmous (furniture design), Timothy Grayson (metals and jewelry design), Laural Hartman (fine arts studio), Suhyeon Kang (glass), Sarah Kinard (fine arts studio), Rose Liu (photography and related media), Chenyang Mu (glass), Dylan Obser (photography and related media), Kibaek Sung (metals and jewelry design), Yuge Wang (ceramics), Sophia Wojnovich (furniture design), and Jieun Yoon (glass).
All are invited to the opening reception, set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Gallery r, where admission is always free. The show will continue through Nov. 19.
Gallery r is Rochester Institute of Technology’s metro art space in downtown Rochester. It serves as the primary showcase for RIT’s creative community in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts.
