Glass artists to speak in School for American Crafts
On Sept. 12, the RIT glass program will welcome a pair of contemporary glass practitioners to the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences for a lecture.
Richard Whiteley and Dr. Karlyn Sutherland are scheduled to hold an artist talk at 3:30 p.m. in Booth Hall, room 3634.
Whiteley, head of the glass workshop at the Australian National University School of Art and Design, is an artist who uses glass as a substrate to explore issues regarding interior and negative space.
Sutherland, who owns a doctorate of philosophy in architecture, was an Endeavour Research Fellow in the Australian National University’s glass workshop in 2016. She has also been an artist-in-residence at both the Corning Museum of Glass and University of Sunderland.
The event is open to the entire CIAS community.
