Scriptwriting

The Writing and Directing concentration is for students with strong writing skills and a keen interest in fictional narrative. Students are required to take numerous courses in Scriptwriting and Directing the Actor courses.

Skilled Professors work with students, instructing them in film language and technique. Here you'll hone your skills in both narative development and in construing your shots.

The student experience is not restricted to the purely academic, however. Opportunities to execute, direct and film one's own work arise almost immediately in the School of Film and Animation.

Students are expected to produce three major finished films during their course of study: a one-quarter film during their sophomore year, a two-quarter film during the junior year, and a senior thesis.
