Digital Cinema

The Bachelor of Science Curriculum in Digital Cinema is designed for those students interested in working with the technology that supports the film and television industry.

This is differentiated from cinematographers and editors who work closely with the technology but are still creative artists. Graduates from this program will become lab colorists, match move technicians, electronic cinema specialists, and other positions that require the necessary post-production and distribution technology expertise.

This first year has some overlap with the SOFA BFA student curriculum. In the second year, BS students will develop the necessary scientific background to understand the upcoming specific technology courses of the third year. The fourth year is designed to allow students to carry out independent projects under the supervision of SOFA and/or Center for Imaging Science faculty.
