Editor available (8/29/06)
I'm Kent Weaver and I am looking for projects to edit this year, be they 2 quarters or senior thesis films. I came to RIT
to specialize in editing and I really want to start doing projects
beyond my own. Over the last two years I've been an
assistant editor on 2 thesis films and 1 1-quarter as well as doing all
my own projects. I've also be an editor at RIT
Sportszone and I edited while interning at Fox Sports Pittsburgh and my
job this past summer where I made
commercials for a cable company. So if anyone is interested in having me
help them this year, please send me an e- mail at
sublimelouie@alloymail.com or AIM screen name : Sublimelouie Thank you,

Student Project with Knight Entertainment need help
12/9/05
Hello,
My name is R.C. Knight and I operate a small DVD production company. I was recently approach by Fist Music to work together to do a music video DVD project. The concept that we developed was a DVD production that is based off of a group of songs provided by his record company. We are looking to have an animated music video for each song, but each song and animation is also a chapter in a story. So you can view each one as a music video, but when play in order they tell a story.
As I began to find an animation partner, I have found that most studios are not willing to enter into a partnership arrangement and only wish to provide a service. We are both rather new companies and we do not have the budget to go the traditional route. I then was curious if an animation school would be willing to enter into a partnership for their students, or be willing to allow me to approach students about doing a project. I did a search and I came across a web page for your school. When I was in school I was afforded an opportunity to pick up some degree related experience and I though that perhaps that we could do something similar to some of your students.
We currently have the music selection, and my associate and I are finishing the last few touches on the script. The production is of 10 songs, and the total amount of run time for all of the songs is about 40 min. We are willing to allow the students to contribute to the artistic design and development of the characters and detail of the story. Knight Entertainment will retain the rights to the story and characters; however, we are willing to give 25% of all return and sales back to the school or department if they are willing to sponsor this project. If not we are willing to offer that percentage to the students involved. The DVD production will have an initial 1,000 unit production run and we are willing to give two free copies to each student and teacher involved. The remaining units will be for sale on major retail internet sites like Best Buy and Target along with many others.
If this project is a success, Fist Music and Knight Entertainment would be willing to do additional projects similar in nature.
I think this would provide a great opportunity for your students who are looking to build their portfolios and to gain some experience.
If you would like to discuss this further, please let me know.

Blues Music Needed for Thesis Animation
12/1/05
Hello all,
I am currently working on my thesis animation, and I am looking for a local group that could help write and perform a blues theme for the film. If anyone knows of a band or a person who would be interested in doing something collaborative like this, I would appreciate a contact, please have them send me an e-mail and I can explain the details.
I am aware that Eastman school students have helped in the past, but I am not sure if this would suit what I am looking for in this case.
Thanks for any help!

4th year Sofa Student needs Lighting Help
I am currently working on my thesis project. I had taken two
quarters off at school to work at Fisher-Price, but am coming back to
finish my last quarter of school this Spring. The thesis project
(screenshots can be seen at http://www.intelligencecubed.com) is a jointproject with Jen Herman who was responsible for lighting the film. She
is currently unable to do the lighting for the animation anymore and I
was hoping that I might be able to find another SOFA student who would
be interested. Please contact me at jedijr88@aol.com if you're
interested.
Thanks a lot,
Jeff Rapess

Looking for an animator
I’m looking for a Maya animator for a project. It’s not really complicated animation, but the data is large. This is a paid job through RIT, so international students are welcome to apply. It can be a short term job or a long term one (for a year including next summer).
Please pass the word to students in your department. Just have them contact me.

DP available
Hi. I'm Chris Keth (just Keth to most people) you might know me or maybe not. I'm completing my 2-quarter project in the cinematography craft track. I'm looking for a second project to shoot since one of my directors turned to a sound craft track. I would prefer to shoot a fiction narrative, but I'd definately consider other types of projects. I'm really committed to spending all my energy on the projects I shoot and helping to make them the best short films possible. If you are directing or producing a project and are still looking for a DP, drop me an e-mail (cdk8380@rit.edu or cdketh@alltel.net)
Sincerely,
Christopher Keth

Senior Thesis Seeking Crew
(Updated on Sept 19,2005)
Hi, my name is Rachel Sreebny and I'm producing Ben Rowny's untitled senior thesis.
At the moment we are looking for some students to help out on our crew! If anyone is interested, please contact me through the information below.
To all freshmen:
Senior theses are a great way to learn what student film shoots are like. You'll learn how to use the equipment that upper classment can check out and you'll get to know some really cool seniors who in turn might help you crank out an awesome Production III film later on! Don't shy away from participating on a shoot because you're afraid you don't know what to do, that's what shoots are for! You'll get to learn everything you need to know while having a really great experience!
We'd love to have anyone aboard for the following positions:
GAFFER - keeping in mind that the film is a horror film/ romance shot by Krister Rollins
SOUND - we need someone who can boom. It's tough, but someone's gotta do it!
PA - We need production assistants to help carry out odd jobs and have a pair of extra helpful hands on set. Freshmen, this means you!
Are you brave enough to step up to the challenge? Do you have what it takes? Do you want to eat a lot of pizza?
Then call now and receive a free gift in the mail!
Rachel,
