The graduate production emphasis provides an opportunity for students to work in the fiction, documentary or experimental form.
Matriculating MFA students commonly have a diverse undergraduate background. Some have film degrees, but others do not. All have a keen passion to tell stories and/or explore the visual potential of the moving image.
Students must produce two finished films during their two years of coursework. The first is completed in the spring quarter of their first year. The second is produced in the fall and winter of their second year.
Their third finished film is their thesis work that is proposed to the faculty and undertaken only after the two years of coursework has been completed.
