Sweet more finals designs. We took a chance with the wheel navigation, its needs a like more work to it. We got lots of critique’s from FI, it was really neat to hear from a different and outside perspective. So hopefully either this weekend or sometime before industry day, me and Randy Church will finalize the design and development!

All my intial sketches from the beginning of last Winter Quarter. These are sketches for layout and logo ideas for our Feed Me website “Quietes Consulting”. A classmate and friend of mine, Steven Parker, helped me with an idea to make a unique website, one that would change (morph) depending on the status of user, whether they were closer to death or not. Here I have my death concept, and the change would be to a more marble white stone setting.

The first couple of weeks were difficult we had to interpret the game developers thoughts to a level of understanding for us designers. Which was much harder then anyone would expect, but this has added to my experience practicing communication in teams. So finally we had agree on style, direction, and we were all finally on the same page. We split up our work. At first, I was helping with story development and character design. I was really disappointed that we wont we using any story line at all, seeing its mainly to show over the development aspect. I had already written an 10 page epic storyline, that I will save for maybe something later. I must admit, I definitely got carried away with the writing but through that I discovered my hidden passion for creative writing.
Sweet. huh? ^_^
It was fun creating characters, during that I realized how much I missed drawing as much as I use to back in High school. After a couple weeks of drawing and even taking a dab at creating some “resources” that would appear on the scene, I took over doing the interface for a designer that had dropped out from the project. In designing an interface, this would include menu system, hub, pause screen, fail screen and the Main menu where credits are shown.

Ira Slastenko, Ben McChesney, Joe Carpenito, Matt Bartol, Sam Sawzin and I are currently working on a game design project for the Game Development major here at R.I.T.
I have played games since as long as I could breathe. One of the reasons I became so interested in 3D and motion all due to playing way too much final fantasy back in day. With the amount of time I use to play I probably could of built car from scratch.
Besides that, video games aren’t completely terrible for you, they also build reflexes and natural awareness of our surrounding quicker then people who don’t play video games. Yea, I tell that to myself when i play a couple more hours.
Atgaderum is the name of the project. Its a very small game, reduced down to one level and mainly based more for the development then the in depth game play. We were all very excited but fearful at the same time, because we only have 5 weeks to design this game. Even more pressure from interests from Microsoft and a showing at the GDC 2009 conference. So poor planning on the development teams part and more caffine intake for the rest of us.
“Atgaderum is a cooperative puzzle game with platforming elements. The idea behind the cooperative gameplay is that two players can work towards the same goal while utilizing different sets of gameplay mechanics. One player will have direct control over the platforming avatar, while the other player will be able to influence the environment. For the purposes of this design document, the players will be referred to as the runner and the architect respectively.”
