Sweet more finals designs. We took a chance with the wheel navigation, its needs a like more work to it. We got lots of critique’s from FI, it was really neat to hear from a different and outside perspective. So hopefully either this weekend or sometime before industry day, me and Randy Church will finalize the design and development!

FI gave us a little activity to do before they come here this thursday. We need to either design, develop or both to create an air app for Cnn.com. The main obstacle is organizing the massive information they stream and display. Trying to condense it and something new for an air app.
My partner, Randy Church, and I teamed up with a solution to this problem. We can slipt the information similar to how cnn.com does in windows, but these windows are their own widgets and can be moved around or evn dragged out of the main window as solo.
The users even has the power in thier “perferences” to see what they want to see on the home page. We are really excited and hopefully finalizing our designs tonight.
Here is from where I started, which was def a cnn.com feel, but then I realize that it looks EXACTLY like the site, which isnt bad but its boring for an air app. Especially when most of the audience is mostly my age.

[Critique's would be greatly appreciated ^_^]

Making up some concepts and font for logo ideas for our Team Project website. We all liked the isometric view that went with the graphs more in our final design. Might make the isometric “q” with less cubes and more solid feel and try different angles.
Including my other teammates design, we are going for a “medical” type of clean feel with isometric graphs to give it more depth.

Its been some time since the contest last year. So many stories, so many memories, and so many good friends I met during our epic adventure to the HOW conference to display and talk about our work to the community. We became presenters for microsoft and discussed sliverlight to the design community.
If you would like to hear more about this contest please contact me. Its too much information to display here but I will be happy to talk to you about it over some coffee. Real or digital. ^_^
Our work got displayed on the Expressions Microsoft website!
(We had a lot of conversion problems, this was when sliverlight was still in beta form, so alot of my graphics seem very off.)

My partner (Eric Wamsley) and I just got informed this morning that we have 2nd
place in the competition!!!! How fucking sweet is that? I wasnt even expecting anything.
And we also get to go the HOW conference in Boston on may 18th. Can it get any better?
I’m so happy things are finally getting better.
I wonder if Boston is really like how it is in the movies? = )
