Project 1 – Let’s Make a Drawing!

Thanks to everyone who submitted a head to the Let’s Make a Drawing project. The drawing application is still up here. The drawing applet works with drawing API. When the user clicks submit the drawing API is turned into bitmap data and then uploaded to the cias server through php. The code I used for this is from Maston Development Studio. The drawings were brought into flash and are dynamically placed in a pseudo-3d crowd environment. If you would like to see the crowd in action mash your clicking button here.

Dynamic Persuasion – Project 3 Concept

The user is introduced to a 2D side-scrolling world in which he or she controls an Avatar. Meant as a social network with game elements and over world. Plot details?
Interaction:
Users can communicate with other avatars. Users can customize their avatar. Users can complete achievements (i.e. climbing a mountain, talking to other avatars, complete mini-games, setting records in mini-games, time spent in game, etc.).
Viral Aspects:
- Users will be able to take a snapshot of their avatar and download it as a wallpaper size image to show off to friends.
- Buying in-game avatar upgrades using points gained from achievements.
- Users will essentially be competing with each other to see who has the coolest/best avatar.
- Users will return and devote more time to the “game” to see the progression of their avatar.
Design:
2D, Paper Mario-esque layered environments.
