Last fall, I had the opportunity to assist digital artist Laurence Gartel for a weekend at the Electronic Television Center in Owego, NY. Digital Artists like Nam June Paik and Shuya Abe, fathers of digital art, studied there over 30 years ago and created some of the first computer art to come out of the US. Using analog synthesizers, oscillators, and colorizers, we were able to create some rather interesting imagery. It was most definitely inspiring to see just how far digital art has come.
