Graduate Print Media (MS)
Program Overview
The Masters in Print Media program takes full advantage of RIT’s innovative resources by placing students in an integrated environment containing the latest equipment and software used throughout the print and publishing industries. The program consists of a major and minor concentration designed to provide you with the tools and information you'll need for an insightful analysis of industry issues and trends. The program focuses on research methodology and implementing a scientific approach to assist you in producing leading-edge research. The required coursework will give you a solid foundation in cross-media communications, while the minor concentration will allow you to focus on your special interest area, such as packaging, information technology, business, or another relevant subject.
As part of the on-campus Print Media Masters program, you will be required to produce a research thesis that utilizes scientific analysis of a relevant industry problem, issue, or trend. Typically, graduate students complete coursework during the first academic year and then complete the thesis during the second academic year. Upon graduation from this masters program, students successfully find careers in the publishing, printing, advertising, packaging, and equipment manufacturing industries.
