Graduate Graphic Design (MFA)
Program Overview
The graduate program in graphic design is a professional course of study that consists of a sequence of courses in advanced visual communication, placing a special emphasis on meaning, form, and function. In a professional studio setting, you will work closely with faculty to understand and implement design theory, design history and criticism, research methods, visual aesthetics, typography, imagery, systems design, information design, ethics and values, project development and evaluation, using cross-disciplinary problem-solving methods. Working with the finest technology and software in the industry, you will learn to create stunning works of printed and electronic media. As a graduate student in graphic design, your coursework and thesis project will incorporate both theory and application, while showcasing final designed outcomes. Special lectures, guest speakers, exhibitions, and workshops complement the studio work experience.
