The Masters of Science In Teaching (MST) Visual Arts – All Grades is a unique, intensive, one-year graduate experience that will prepare you to meet the national, state and regional need for excellent teachers of the visual arts in grades K-12. This Art Education program offers an environment that will nurture and promote a creative approach to teaching the visual arts. The program has a dynamic curriculum, designed to prepare you to become a dedicated art educator who is committed to the teaching of art to all children. Partnerships with area school districts and the local art community are key elements of the program. Throughout the year, you will work alongside faculty in an atmosphere of collaboration and engagement while addressing the fundamental purposes and processes of art education, as well as its social, economic, and cultural impacts. The program emphasizes innovation and creativity in teaching and learning, through research, studio inquiry and community involvement. As a graduate of this program, you will be able to train and encourage future artists, and begin your career in this fulfilling and rewarding profession.
