The ciliate is called Euplotes Eurystomus and it is about 125 microns in length. The image was taken using differential interference contrast (DIC) using a 40x objective.

The organism is called Holopyhra discolor. It is a little more than 100 microns in size. THe cirlce in the back of it is the contractile vacuole, which regulates the amount of water in the organism. The blurred spot in the middle is the macronucleus. THe image was taken using differential iterference contrast (DIC) and taken with a 40x objective.

The subject is a Valviferan Isopod, or commonly known as a water centipede. The different colors represent different auto-fluorescent proteins when excited with either GFP, DsRED or DAPI filter bands.
