David Sluberski, owner of West Rush Media LLC, is a senior lecturer at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Film and Animation, where he specializes in sound design and technology. He is the recording engineer and producer for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra for broadcast on WXXI, and has been featured on the radio and television discussing sound effects for film.
He provided sound design and post-production for “The Intrepid: Discovering Lincoln’s Balloon Corps,” which won a 2014 Bronze Telly Award and aired on WXXI-TV/PBS. WRM clients include many independent upstate New York filmmakers.
From 1984-2009, Dave was Senior Audio Producer/Technologist at WXXI Public Broadcasting Council in Rochester NY, with his work heard nationally on hundreds of NPR and PBS stations. He recorded and produced over 2000 remote recordings for radio and TV.
His many awards include the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award
(1994), as well as numerous Telly, Gabriel and NYS Emmy awards. He oversaw the audio facility/infrastructure design for the $12-million-dollar digital conversion for WXXI-TV and radio, which was a finalist for the 2007 Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award.
