The visual arts-all grades (art education) MST program — part of the School of Art — is holding the opening reception for its capstone show from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Joy Gallery, 498 West Main St., Rochester.

Lilyanna Landon, Nicholas Doremus, Melissa Kuter and Misti Roe are this year's MST candidates. About 200 pieces of artwork done by them, local K-12 students they student-taught and RIT faculty will go up Friday and remain on display until May 27.

Things will also come full circle at the opening. The show offers a unique wrinkle in that Joy Gallery is owned by School of Art professor Luvon Sheppard, who was part of the first MST in art education graduating class over 50 years ago.
