'Unforeseen Structures,' a Mitch Goldstein exhibit
An inimitable display of images by School of Design professor Mitch Goldstein will soon be on view in the Photography Gallery at Flower City Arts Center. There, 27 of Goldstein’s photograms are set to be showcased as his exhibition, “Unforeseen Structures,” starts Friday with an opening reception from 6-9 p.m.
The creation of photograms doesn’t require a camera or lenses. Instead, physical objects are put on or near unexposed photographic paper in a darkroom and briefly exposed to light. Goldstein’s photograms don’t have a defined aesthetic — rather, he said, they rely on “intuition and chance to allow form and structure to develop from the process.”
Goldstein’s abstract compositions will be up until May 20.
